Looking for information for an Erickson no 50 tenthset boring head

The Tenthset is a very good boring head for smaller holes. You said its a #50, that makes it a 1/2" shank. There are also #37 (3/8), and #62 (5/8). Collect the whole set. The rather limited travel works best if you buy a set of boring bars that cut progressively larger diameters when set on center.

How to make tapered holes, on purpose?

You could probably do an alright job boring a taper with one of those boring/facing heads. Like a Wohlhaupter or a Kuroda. Using some ratio between the boring head's facing feed rate and power down feed. I think you have to hold a ring on those heads stationary to make it feed outward.
